Pinetown Girls’ High School is an English medium school where English is taught as a Home Language and therefore English 1st additional is NOT taught.
1. Learners will be accepted into Pinetown Girls’ High according to the South African Schools’ Act 84 of 1996 Section 4, in the following order of preference:
1.1 Learners living with the biological parents within the Pinetown area where Pinetown Girls’ High School is the closest High School to residence. (Rates certificate, electricity or water account as proof of residence is required).
1.2 Learners living in Pinetown with relatives e.g. brothers / sisters, aunts, with proof of guardianship. Only a Legal Document indicating Guardianship or Death Certificates of both parents will be considered.
1.3 Learners who live outside of the Pinetown area but whose parents work permanently within the Pinetown Area. (Proof of workplace must be attached.)
Once a learner has been accepted at Pinetown Girls’ High School:
- An email to this effect will be sent to the parents.
- The parents and learner accepts that they will abide by the School’s Code of Conduct and other policies
Any other learners applying and living outside the Pinetown area will be considered after learners complying with the above criteria have been placed. As Pinetown Girls’ cannot guarantee a place at the school, it is advised that parents MUST apply at alternative schools.
- Learners whose closest State High School is NOT Pinetown Girls’ High eg. Chatsworth, Hammersdale (Mpumalanga), Hillcrest, KwaMashu, Newlands, Queensburgh, Umlazi, Waterfall, etc., must apply for admission to schools closer to their homes.
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS WILL BE FRIDAY, 13 AUGUST 2021 AT 12:00 MIDDAY
If any documentation is found to be fraudulent (as in any information has been falsified to meet the admissions criteria), the learner will automatically be removed from the accepted list or the waiting list.
