PGHS reopens for Grade 12 learners.

On 8 June 2020, we welcomed our Grade 12 learners back to school. After the long break enforced by the lockdown, they returned to a very different environment from the one they left in March.

The wearing of masks is now compulsory.  Every morning, the girls have their temperatures recorded and they are screened for Covid-19.  The introduction of electronic screening will assist in speeding up this process.

As learners enter the school grounds, their hands are sanitized, and this is repeated every time they enter or leave a classroom. All areas of the school are cleaned several times a day, including the desks and chairs in each classroom, as well as door handles, taps and other surfaces that are frequently touched.

Social distancing is required at all times.  There are markings on the corridor walls to remind the learners how far apart they need to stand. Even at breaks and after school, learners are expected to maintain social distancing as prescribed by the protocols for Covid-19 determined by the government.

We thank the Grade 12s for their efforts so far, and remind them to observe the protocols at all times.

We would like to appeal to all parents to assist us by reinforcing these regulations at home. Please ensure that your daughters wear masks whenever they leave home, and that they always stand at least 1.5m away from any other person.
